Hey you deadly fellas, can I tell you a little about where we come from and why we started this crazy pink company.
I'm Hayley Wesbro and I'll be your guide today. I'm also the founder/director/grand poobah of Wesbro Services, and I have my daughter Macey and son Blake working alongside me and our amazing Wesbro team. Our mob is Wiradjuri, central NSW. We are a very proud Indigenous family and we are humbled that we can care for our people.
Whilst we are an Aboriginal organisation, we offer support to all people. We deliver our service with the cultural practices of respect and care for our people and our land. I'm really proud that I can bring Aboriginal culture into the lives of people who haven't been fortunate to learn our beautiful ways.
Wesbro Services was born in 2018 (thankfully this baby didn't give me stretchmarks!) in response to the need for Aboriginal disability supports.
And the pink, well.....it's just my absolute favourite colour and when I look at it, I feel happy. It also doesn't hurt that we stand out!
I really hope you choose us to support you, and let us join you on your journey.
It's your choice, you're in control.
On behalf of all present, I would like to acknowledge and pay my respect to the traditional custodians of the land we are meeting on today, the Yuggera, Jagera and Ugarapul people. We acknowledge that these lands, waters, and airways are home to the aboriginal brothers and sisters. I would also like to pay my respect to the elder’s past, present and emerging and extend my respect to all the aboriginal people present.
